Start Of School Choir Reminders

Hello FHS Choir Family,

I am so excited to see you all on Monday! These are reminders of some previous announcements that pertain to the start of school.

Ops Team: Become a Student Leader

Student leaders are an important part of our success as a Choir Program. Our student leaders form a team, called the Operations Team, which handles things like communication, sound, social media, uniforms, pictures, and leading section rehearsals. Any student can apply for a position on the Ops Team, including incoming freshmen. CLICK HERE to apply!

Choir Kickoff

Our annual Choir Kickoff Potluck is a popular tradition that takes place on the first Thursday of the school year. This is an event for the whole family, and we want everyone to be there! The FHS Choir Kickoff Potluck will be held August 15, 2024 at 6pm in the FHS Cafeteria. Please RSVP for the Kickoff here.

Parent Volunteers

This choir program cannot function at its best without the support of parent volunteers. If you want your child to have the opportunity to participate in things like the Homecoming Parade, Senior Night, the Awards Banquet, etc, I need parents to make those things happen because I don’t have the bandwidth to do it all. If you would like to help your kid have the best possible experience in Choir this year, please fill out this Parent Volunteer Interest Form. 

Disneyland Trip Nov 12-13

A reminder that there is a special discount for anyone who makes their Disneyland deposit by August 16! The Deposit is only $100 until Aug 16; after that it is $150. Cash or check only to the School Banker (today-Friday) or to Mrs. Noorda (Aug 12-16). The total cost of the trip is $500 but that will be discounted to $450 if you make your deposit by next Friday.

Schedule Concerns

If you are concerned about your schedule and/or what Choir is currently on your schedule, don’t panic! Counselors are still adjusting schedules, and I am working hard to advocate for my students and make sure everyone ends up in the right class. Refer to your Choir Placement Email from May 20, 2024 to find out what Choir you should be in. Wait patiently if that Choir isn’t what’s on your schedule currently. If it’s not correct by the first day of school, we will talk and I’ll make sure things get fixed. If you have questions or don’t know what Choir you’re supposed to be in, contact me via email. I take scheduling very seriously and I will work to help you!
