Homecoming, Hawaii, and Class Fees

Dear FHS Choir Students and Families,

Like an ordinary, non-lucky clover, this email comes to you in three parts: Homecoming, Hawaii, and Class Fees.

Part 1: Homecoming Parade and Fundraiser

Foothill Choir students have shown significant interest in participating in the 2023 FHS Homecoming Parade. We are excited to give them the chance to do so! The parade begins at 6pm on Monday, September 18th. Participation in the parade is optional, but contingent on us having a good number of students sign up to participate. Please sign up for the parade here.

Choir will also have a booth at Mission Hills park after the parade to raise funds for choir socials this year. We need students and parents to help run our booth! Please indicate your interest on the same Google form as above.

FYI, you can read up on allll the Homecoming information here.

Part 2: Hawaii

Choir has the opportunity to travel to Hawaii in 2024! Please read on for the details and express your interest in attending here.

Tentative Trip Dates: April 25-29, 2024

Tentative Cost: ~$2,100 per person

Approx $1,100 for airfare

You may have the option of booking your own airfare if you choose

Approx $1,000 for everything else (hotel, performances, tour guide, meals, activities, etc)

Please check the Itinerary Link below for a more detailed cost breakdown. ALL the information is there for you.

Tentative Itinerary: Click Here

This itinerary includes several performance opportunities, a day at the Polynesian Cultural Center, delicious Hawaiian feasts, a traditional lei greeting, free time to explore Oahu, and more!

We must have at least 35 committed travelers in order for this trip to happen.

If we do not reach this number, the trip will be canceled.

Please indicate here if you are interested in going on the trip. Filling out this form is NOT a commitment; it just lets me know that you would like to go and that you understand the cost will be around $2,100.

Part 3: Class Fees and MyMusicOffice

As you have heard, there are mandatory class fees associated with being in Choir. You can read the full details in our Choir Handbook or on the front page of foothillchoirs.com.

Here is how fees are handled and tracked in the FHS Choir program: We use an online service called MyMusicOffice.com. Each student has their own account. I write down each fee for each student in their MyMusicOffice account. Students pay fees via the school bank or webstore. Once a week or so, I get a report from the School Banker on what students have made payments. I record these in MyMusicOffice. Students and their families can check their MyMusicOffice accounts online at any time, 24/7, so you can always stay current on what fees you have been charged and what you need to pay.

Right after I send this email, I will send an automated email from MyMusicOffice giving you the details of how you can check your account online. Each student has an automatically generated username and password. For additional security, after logging in for the first time, you can change your password to something only you know. I will also be sending students home tomorrow with a paper handout telling you your login information.

As a reminder, ALL CHOIR FEES ARE DUE BY SEPTEMBER 22nd unless you have made an alternate arrangement with me.

Thanks for reading to the end of this long but important email! Please email earls2@nv.ccsd.net with any questions. I’m always happy to help!

Thanks,

Ms. Earl
