Choir Trip CHANGE OF PLANS


Dear FHS Choir Students and Families,


I have some bad news and some good news about our spring Choir Trip.


The bad news is that due to limited interest, the Choir trip to Hawaii April 25-29 has been CANCELED. We simply do not have enough interested students to make it happen.


The good news is that I have an alternative trip planned which will be much more affordable.


The New Trip at-a-glance:

  • April 12-13, 2024 (two days, one night)

  • Knotts Berry Farm and Music in the Parks Performance

  • Cost: $280

  • The trip is completely optional

  • Space is very limited: we have 19 seats available

  • Must pay $100 nonrefundable deposit to sign up


The New Trip in Detail:

  • Music in the Parks is a company that gives students the opportunity to perform a concert and visit an amusement park all in one trip. We are excited to have this experience!

  • Cost: $280 per student

    • This will be the cost regardless of the number of students per room

    • This cost covers the hotel, bus, the MITP Performance, Knotts Berry Park tickets, CCSD Fees, and some meals.

    • Payment will be broken down as follows:

      • $100 nonrefundable deposit due upon registration

      • $100 payment due January 17

      • $80 Payment due February 16

  • Basic Itinerary:

    • Friday, April 12: Leave Las Vegas in the morning, arrive in Buena Vista CA in the early afternoon and give our Music in the Parks performance that night. Stay overnight in the DoubleTree Hotel.

    • Saturday, April 13: All day in Knotts Berry Park. Leave by 9pm

    • Sunday, April 14: arrive home in the early hours of the morning (approximately 2am)

  • Limited Space:

    • We have made this trip much more affordable by combining our travel with the Valley High School Choir Program. Our two schools are splitting the seats on (and cost of) one charter bus. This means there are only 19 seats available on the bus for Foothill students. Seats are first-come, first-served, with a few eligibility limitations:

  • Eligibility:

    • Students must have no major behavior concerns or issues; this trip is a privilege.

    • Students must not be chronically absent (defined by CCSD as missing 10% or more school days for any reason, excused or unexcused)

    • All outstanding fees with the choir program must be paid before going.

    • If any student is deemed to be ineligible due to these reasons a refund will not be given for any monies already paid.

  • Signing up for the trip

    • To sign up, you must first sign and turn in these three field trip forms and then pay a $100 nonrefundable deposit.

    • Money will be collected by the Banker. You can pay online or via cash or check. Checks should be made out to Foothill High School, ℅ Choir Program. Please email/confirm with me before you pay so that we don’t overfill our 19 seats!

    • We will not need any parent chaperones for this trip. There will be enough teachers and administrators coming from both Valley and Foothill to cover all our chaperone needs.

  • Meals

    • Friday meals will be on-your-own. We will stop at a food court on the way to California and once we arrive at our hotel, so you will have the option to choose between several different restaurants, or pack a sack meal(s) to bring with you.

    • Saturday all meals will be covered by the Knotts Berry Park Meal Plan. With this plan, you can get an Entrée or Snack every 90 minutes & a drink every 15 minutes from various Knotts Berry Park vendors.
