January Events: Painting Rocky and More
January is a big month for us! We have lots of recruiting events and more. Read all about it:
Painting Rocky
Tomorrow, Friday Jan 5, from ~1:45-2:45 pm.
All Choir students are invited to join us in painting “Rocky,” the Spirit Rock outside the entrance to the 400s. Wear clothes you don’t mind getting paint on and enjoy some music, snacks, and socializing with friends as we paint the rock to show our FHS Choir Spirit! Feel free to invite friends outside of Choir if you like.
Knotts Berry Farm
We still have 10 seats available for Knotts Berry Farm. In order for us to be able to do future trips like this, we will need to have a good turn out. The non-refundable deposit is $100 and the total trip cost is $280. Please contact me if you are interested in going. We would love to be able to fill those last 10 seats!
Roadshow — WC and CS Only
Tuesday, January 16, 7am-3pm.
Women’s Chorus and Chamber Singers will be off-campus all day, traveling via Charter bus to Mannion, Miller, Burkholder, and Smalley to promote Choir. Students in these choirs, please turn in your permission forms for Roadshow asap.
Friends of Choir Party
January 18, 1:30-3pm
This is a big Choir Recruiting event. All choir students are encouraged to come and bring a friend who is not in choir. We will have pizza, music, and games. This is a chance to show other FHS students what choir is about and encourage them to join! The day before the party, we will do a “recruiting blitz,” visiting classrooms around the school to promote choir and invite people to the party.
Yearbook Group Photos
January 19 during class
All Choir students will be taking our group photo for the yearbook. You must bring your concert uniform that day to wear for photos!
Nothing Bundt Cakes Fundraiser
January 23 - February 3
This fundraiser is similar to Krispy Kreme in that all bundt cakes are pre-sold. Participation is optional; more details coming soon.
As always, feel free to reach out with any questions. I’m always happy to hear from students and parents!
Thanks,
Mrs. Noorda
